When I think about sitting on a patio in the summer sun I always picture myself looking radiant of course, but also sipping a fruity, refreshing glass of sangria. Doesn’t that sound amazing?!

I fluctuate between my preference of red or white because they are both equally delicious, and I love that it comes with a little snack, too. Like an alcoholic fruit cup!

Sangria doesn’t just have to be from restaurants anymore; you can make some for yourself right at home! Here’s how.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 L bottle red wine (merlot or Cabernet)
  • 2 c. Sprite or 7Up
  • 1 c. Orange juice
  • 1 c. Vodka
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lime
  • 1 Apple
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Pitcher or large beverage dispenser

Instructions

Pour wine and vodka into beverage dispenser.

Add orange juice.

Add 7Up and stir liquids together.

Add berries.

Slice the orange, apple and lime into small pieces and put in beverage dispenser.

Mix together.

Chill and serve.

The great thing about sangria is that it is very versatile. Change up the recipe based on your taste. Use a sweet wine and more juice for sweeter sangria, or a sparkling wine for something a bit more bubbly. Use a variety of fruits or just one or two. Enjoy!
