Nothing brings the wow factor to a gathering more than a decked-out charcuterie board! It’s one of my favorite things to make for a big crowd, a lazy family dinner, or a girl's night in. What I love about it is that you can pull out pretty much whatever is in your fridge and I find it’s an easy opportunity to get creative! When I saw the tiered tray from the Fall 2022 Box, I knew I wanted to try it as a charcuterie board. I thought it would bring some interest and dimension to the layout! Today I wanted to share with you a few tips on how I make my charcuterie boards feel special. Follow along for some charcuterie board ideas:

1. Grab what you love

First, let me share a few of my charcuterie board staples! I cannot make a charcuterie board without these items - however, it’s all personal taste. So grab all the items you love snacking on and get creative! I always start with Beecher's cheese because it’s delicious and my most favorite cheese ever. It's always good to incorporate a few hard kinds of cheese and spreadable cheeses. I’m also addicted to the sweet and spicy jalapeños from Trader Joe’s so those are always involved! I try to make sure I have three to five cheeses so (goat cheese, smoked gouda, Havarti cheese, aged cheddar, blue cheese, etc.), a few meat choices (salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, etc.) some cut fruit, some nuts, and something unexpected (in this case the jalapeños).  I love going to a friends how and tasting boards that don’t always have the same old things on them. I love getting to know what my friends like on their charcuterie boards and discovering new things. So when you go to make your charcuterie board, make it feel original by making it to your taste!
Pro-tip: Set your cheese out 30 minutes before serving to make room temperature. Soft cheese is easier to slice and spread onto your favorite crackers, bread, etc.
2. Decide on your WOW-factor
Italian salami flowers, crackers, your favorite crackers, easy charcuterie board
I love things that add texture and variation to the landscape. You can add in a special jam, floral arrangement, dried fruits, blue cheese stuff olives, or something different than what you usually place on your charcuterie boards. One of my favorite things to do to make things feel special is to make Italian salami flowers (you can honestly use any cured meat you like) Yep, you read that right! You can check out Pinterest for the many tutorials out there, but trust me when I say IT’S SO EASY!! I usually make 3-4 of these salami flowers depending on how big my board is and layer things around it. They make such a big impact and make the spread feel so special! Get your favorite sliced meats and make that wow factor!

3. Get adventurous with your landscape/serving board
Two Tier Tray charcuterie board, good charcuterie board, baguette slices
I styled this charcuterie board on the stunning tiered tray from the Decocrated Fall 2022 Box, because I love changing up the landscape of my cheese boards. I placed down parchment paper and added in my cheese board essentials (make sure to add parchment paper if using the Fall 2022 Two-Tier Tray, in order to keep your food safe). This not only creates a great service area but also is a fun charcuterie board display or centerpiece I’ve done them on a wooden board, pizza trays, baking sheets, and now this awesome tiered tray. Really nothing is off limits if it can hold food! I find this really elevated my spread and I had a lot of fun with it!

Now you have the perfect charcuterie board inspiration for your next get-together or date night!

How do you make your charcuterie boards special? We would love to know what you’ve done in the past! Leave us a comment!
