I’m a simple girl, but something about the holidays makes me crave a sophisticated cocktail. Do you know what I’m saying? Throw some logs on the fire, sit in your favorite chair, or get snuggled on the couch, and sip something festive! I’m usually a simple red or white wine kind of gal, but when it gets chilly outside and that holiday magic is upon us, there’s nothing better than a cocktail…you know, the kind with more than one ingredient. ;)

Today I thought I’d share a personal favorite whiskey-based drink with you! My husband is a whiskey lover, so we always have some of that on hand! I personally love a citrus cocktail, so pairing it with whiskey makes it a hit for him and a hit for me, win win! I think this makes it a good choice for a party cocktail too!

So gather your ingredients (listed below), tuck those kids into bed, and get that cocktail shaker out! It’s time to make it a festive and delicious night!

The Cranberry Orange Whiskey Cocktail

Here’s what you’ll need:

*this recipe makes two servings

Thyme - 2 sprigs

Lemon juice - 1/2oz

Simple syrup - 1/2oz

Unsweetened cranberry juice - 1oz

Orange juice - 3oz

Cointreau - 1/2oz

Whiskey - 2oz

Ginger beer - 2oz

Simply mix all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker (minus the ginger beer). Shake well. Pour over ice, then top with ginger beer, any extra thyme springs, and cranberries! So refreshing and so festive - this is sure to be a hit for your cozy night in or to thrill a house full of guests!

I’ve set it out on my Winter 2021 Wood Tray - don’t you think it looks darling? I love this tray for serving cocktails because it’s the perfect size and the handles are so sturdy! I’ve styled mine up a bit with some faux trees, my favorite DIY garland, and a candle, but the cocktail looks perfect by itself too! I love how the drink is such a pop of color! It would pair perfectly with a holiday charcuterie board, too!

I hope you enjoy it! Cheers Decocrators!

xoxo,
