I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t tell if I’m excited or dreading the upcoming fall season. As a girl who lives in California and goes to school in Arizona, I obviously have trouble with the cold. I can’t stand the rain, and I’ve only seen snow a handful of times. However, I have to love the fall seasons coming about, with sweater weather coming back and not sweating as soon as you walk outside.
As we go into fall, getting to work, it’s harder to take time to really put yourself first. After a self-care summer, it’s hard to keep those standards, balance work, possibly school, and just get a good night’s sleep. Colder weather is among us, and it’s time to get cozy. Take some time for yourself and wrap up in that blanket with a nice hot tea. Let your mind wander with a good book, or get out of the house for some fall festivities.
1. Do Some Fall Baking
After all, pumpkin spice & everything nice! I’ve found that in terms of food, fall is the perfect time to bake! It is the season for pies, pumpkin, cinnamon, and all the sweet flavors that really apply to that cool, leaf-changing weather. I find that with baking, you lose yourself a little bit in the time, so why not make something good while you’re doing it. Here are some fall baking recipes to get you started!

2. At-Home Spa Night
In the movies, you always see the at-home spa nights have candles, rose petals, lemons, etc. Why not live the dream? The good thing about having an at-home spa night is it really allows you to retreat back and read, watch, or listen to something. Catch up on that podcast or tv show you’ve been wanting to watch. Light a pumpkin spice candle. Have a glass of wine and just sit back and enjoy.
3. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
The best fall activity is visiting a pumpkin patch and taking photos. It is the perfect way to get out of the house and enjoy what autumn has to offer. To get into the Halloween spirit, consider carving a pumpkin or adventuring into a pumpkin patch maze that’ll be the perfect thing to have a little bit of fun and spice things up, quite literally.
4. Halloween Movie Marathon
Halloweentown, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, all classics to enjoy on a night sometime in the fall! Sometimes you need those movie marathons! So, pop the popcorn, get the blankets, and enjoy a spooky night! Here are some of my favorites!
- Scream
- Halloweentown
- Ghostbusters
- The Addams Family
- Hocus Pocus
- A Nightmare on Elm Street
- The Haunted Mansion
- The Shining
- The Conjuring
- Casper
With all the fun, comes a little self-care. Enjoy the fall season!
See you next time!
