Happy fall, ya’ll! If you are anything like me and can’t seem to keep up on watering your flowers and pulling weeds, then you 100% need to invest in making your front porch your curb appeal focal point. A beautiful front porch draws the eyes in and away from those pesky weeds, and the best part?!? You can change it up with the seasons and for holidays! My favorite seasonal front porch is obviously fall. I pull inspiration from the changing leaves and local pumpkin patches to dress up my porch and create a fall oasis. Check out my tips below to give your front porch a fall facelift!
Fill in Space with Hay and Corn Stalks
I always start with a few bales of hay and corn stalks to add some extra dimension and to fill in some of the empty space on my porch. You can usually pick these up from a local pumpkin patch or farmer’s market for relatively cheap.
Mum’s the Word
My favorite fall flowers are mums. They are big and beautiful this time of year! I like to add them to my front steps for a pop of color, and I’ve also planted one in my Decocrated metal planter from the Spring 2021 Box and set atop my end table. I think it looks just gorgeous. You can usually find mums in various yellow, orange, red (and sometimes white) shades.
Fall Front Door Wreath
My front door is never bare. I have more wreaths than I know what to do with. This fall, I hung this super cute wreath made of twigs and felt leaves this fall.
Pumpkins, Squash, Gourds, Oh My!
No fall porch is complete without pumpkins and other gourds. I like to incorporate various shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. They really look so beautiful!
Fall Doormat
I love a good seasonal doormat. The one pictured here says, “Hey there, pumpkin,” but you wouldn’t believe how many options are available. You could even make your own!
Seasonal Wooden Sign
Get crafty and create a painted wooden sign for your front porch! I recently made this fall-themed Home Sweet Home sign, and the backside is Christmas-themed. Work in fall quotes like “Happy Fall, Y’all” for extra cuteness.
Fall Home Accents
Once you’ve filled in the large spaces, add some detail! I have added some fall color on my chairs using pillow covers from the Fall 2021 Box and the Summer 2020 Box. Next to my mum, I set the metal pumpkin from the Fall 2021 box, and below is the wooden crate from the Fall 2020 box, which I have filled with faux pumpkins and greenery.
Doesn’t my porch look gorgeous?! I am looking forward to enjoying my morning coffee and my Friday evening wine while sitting on this fall oasis.
