I absolutely LOVE the wooden snowflake wall hanging from the Decocrated Winter 2022 Box. However, when I saw it I KNEW I needed to incorporate it into my twin daughters’ holiday bedroom decor. Their holiday decor theme is whimsical with pinks, greens, and blues so I felt the wood tone of the snowflake just wouldn’t quite fit in.
Thus, I decided to “decohack” this piece (that basically means changing it up) using paint, glitter, and a beautiful bow. Below is a quick rundown of the steps and supplies to add some sparkle to your own Decocrated wooden snowflake!
Supplies
- Wooden snowflake from the Decocrated Winter 2022 Box
- Acrylic paint (I chose pink)
- Paintbrush
- Spray adhesive
- Glitter
- Chunky yarn
- Tulle
- Sparkly yarn
Instructions
Start by painting the front and edges of the snowflake with the color of your choice. You can paint the back too, but to save time (and sanity, haha) I just painted the front/edges.

I used three full coats. Allow to dry completely
Then I spray-painted this side of the snowflake with spray adhesive.

Sprinkle glitter over the adhesive. Shake off excess glitter.

Once dry, gather together tulle, chunky yarn, and sparkly yarn. Tie a bow around the hanging twine on the snowflake.

Tada! You are done and have a completely different-looking snowflake, perfect for a little girls’ bedroom or a whimsical holiday decor scheme.
