It may be chilly outside but that does not mean your front porch should have a cold and unwelcoming appearance. Your home’s curb appeal is, of course, the first thing that your guests and your neighbors see. After clearing away the holiday décor, make a simple switch with a few décor pieces to add some warmth.  The days may be shorter and darker during this season but here are a few ways to add love, light, and style to your front porch this winter.

An easy place to begin styling is with your front door. Start by hanging a seasonal wreath on your front door. I embellished a premade winter wreath with the Decocrated Winter Wreath. I simply attached it to the bottom of the premade wreath to spruce it up. Wreaths are always go-to and must-haves for seasonal décor.

Here is another front door wreath option. I used a wooden “home” sign and hung the Decocrated Wintergreen Wall Art above it to give it a wintertime theme. The wooden “home” signs are so versatile and can be utilized from season to season. For those of you who are crafty and would like to add a unique touch, you may consider creating your own wreaths. You could wrap a scarf around a wreath base and a festive bow. Another idea is to attach twigs and pinecones to a wreath base to give it a natural woodsy look. You could also take it a step further and give it a quick spray with white spray paint to give it a winter wonderland look. The best part about it, you may be able to find these items in your own backyard. I am all about simple and easy ways to decorate.

Greenery is a key ingredient to give your front porch a wintery look.  Evergreens are commonly used in the construction of wreaths due to their heartiness throughout the harsh winter season.  I found the cutest little dog made from faux greenery and hung the Decocrated Faux Winter Wreath from its tail. It’s fun to add a little element of whimsy to your front porch décor to keep it interesting.

Plant containers are also a terrific way to add color to the front porch. You can fill them with live greenery, faux greenery, wood, or even pinecones just to name a few.

Whether you have a wooden bench, wicker sofa, or chairs on your front porch, an effortless way to add a pop of color is with throw pillows. I added the fabulous Evergreen pillows, from the Winter 2021 box to these chairs, and they added the perfect amount of texture and wintertime style. If you want to get a little fancier, you can even add a throw to your seating area. It will come in handy on those chilly nights while you are spending time together on your front porch.

After all the holiday hype ends, focus on keeping your front porch décor simple but inviting. Add your unique touches along with your Decocrated seasonal pieces to create a front porch you can be proud of. Be sure to share how you decorate your porch for the winter months.
