It's the start of Spring, which means it's time to clean out your home and get ready for the new season. Along with spring cleaning comes the chance to add a little fragrance to your home. While soy scented candles, a simmer pot, and room sprays are excellent options, some all-natural ones won't break the bank. If you have the urge to clean with the new Spring season and add scents that can make your home feel extra cozy and welcoming, read on to find some of the most exciting ways to achieve this.
1. Open Your Windows
One of the easiest ways to make any home smell like spring is to open your windows and let in some fresh air. Opening your windows will help you usher in a fresh new season. Opening your windows also lets in spring scents, such as the smell of freshly cut grass and blossoming flowers. So if you want to bring spring inside, or if you're just looking for ways to freshen up your home, these tips can help you create a pleasant-smelling home without using artificial scents or plug-in air fresheners.
2. Display Fresh Flowers
Flowers can add a pleasant scent and a pop of color to your home. The flowery scent smells amazing and can also make your home smell fresh. Their smell can last anywhere from one week to two months, depending on the type of flowers you choose. You can display flowers on a mantle or in a vase, making your room look more inviting.
3. Essential Oils
Another easy way to fill your home with the nice scent of spring is by investing in an essential oil diffuser. Essential oils come in hundreds of different scents that you can use around the house. For example, Lavender essential oil is known for its calming scent and properties, while lemon essential oil has a refreshing scent. In addition, you can spray essential oils onto pillows or sheets before bedtime so that you wake up to the warm spring spell in the morning.
4. Wash Your Curtains and Rugs
Spring is the best time for spring cleaning. So why not start with items you don't clean on a regular basis. Think about all the things that have happened since you last washed your curtains and rugs or even since you bought them. If they look like they need it, take them outside and air them out. You can even toss them in the washing machine with a nice spring-scented detergent.
5. Make a DIY potpourri
You can make your own scented potpourri with things from around the house. One of my favorite scents to simmer on the stove is 2 lemons sliced, some rosemary, and 1 tbsp of vanilla extract. Another one I like is 2 limes sliced, 3-4 sprigs of rosemary, 3 tbsp of vanilla extract, and 4 cups of water. These are two easy stovetop potpourri recipes that I love! Both of them will bring such an amazing aroma to your home.
The smell of your home is one of the first things people notice when they come in. The best thing about it is you don’t have to spend a fortune. These examples are some of the easiest ways to achieve the spring smell that so many people like. I hope these ideas help you bring the Spring season indoors! Till next time!
