Being productive can be difficult sometimes, but spring is the perfect time to start! Spring is all about refreshing and growth so changing small aspects in your everyday routine can help assist with you being more productive. Here are 4 of my simple productivity tips to help this spring!

1. Start your Week with a Brain Dump

Woman writing, woman writing on a blank piece of paper

If you're anything like me, your brain is always full of ideas, tasks, activities, and more! It can get overwhelming at times and feel like there is just "too much" to handle. What I have started doing is starting every week with a brain dump. I grab my journal, a piece of paper, or even open up a draft email. Set a timer, I like to go for 20 mins. This isn't too long, but it's long enough to give yourself time to think.

A brain dump is when you take all the crazy ideas, to do lists, and more and write them down. No rhyme or reason, just get it all out on paper. Write out your small tasks and bigger tasks so your can visualize everything you have to do or are thinking about. This will allow you to have a more productive day. You can make a list, draw doodles, whatever feels best for you, and your process.

2. Create a Daily To Do List

Kitchen area, sink area, coffee cup, hand towel, morning routine

This is an extension of your brain dump. Now that you've got it all out on paper, it's time to put it into action! Start by categorizing the items and tasks into different types of to do lists. Example; kids' activities, work, house, shopping, etc. Once you've done that, now it's time to prioritize. Schedule out certain hours so you know exactly when you have to do specific tasks or activities. What is the number one thing that must get done? Put that at the very top of your list. TIP: your to do lists should be flexible. If you don't finish it, no worries, just push those items to the next day's list or drop them off completely! The items that you are continually pushing off are clearly not a priority, so eliminate them.

3. Stick to Simple Cleaning Habits

If you are anything like me, cleaning is the last thing you want to do. Like, it would always be at the bottom of my list and getting dropped every time! There's no shame in that, but it is something we all have to do. Since it's spring it's time to try new cleaning habits in order to spring clean. So now is the time to create simple, easy cleaning habits. For me, a game-changer was never going to sleep with dishes in the sink. Furthermore, the easiest way to do that is to put our dishes away after we use them and make sure I run the dishwasher every day no matter what. So, throughout the day it helps to clean as you go instead of scheduling everything you have to clean later.

4. Organization and Availability

Organize your area, prepare your morning, supplement packs ready, coffee ready

I don't know about you, but I am all about the grab-and-go lifestyle. Sometimes this can be problematic when taking vitamins, finding your keys, or even putting the kids' shoes on! I know those all sound like simple tasks, but when you are running out the door, it's nice to have a system in place. Put a hook by the door for your keys. When the kids get home, take their shoes off and put them in the same place every time. Things like this make life a lot less stressful! For me, I take a daily collagen supplement, but I kept forgetting to make it before I left for the day. So I switched to grab-and-go collagen, and put them right at my sink in a cute pot so they are right where I will see them and not forget them every day!

I hope these productivity tips help you! They have already helped me have a more productive year.
