As the spring season approaches, so does the anticipation of spring cleaning! This season is traditionally the time of year when homeowners freshen up their spaces after a long winter indoors. However, the idea of spring cleaning can be daunting, especially with so many rooms to tackle in the house! The following tips are to help you conquer your spring cleaning goals while getting ready for the new season ahead.

Tip #1: Make your own cleaning products.

Why invite toxic chemicals into your home while cleansing it for the new season? Traditional grocery store cleaners are often loaded with chemicals and faux fragrances that add to indoor air pollution. Skip the trip to the store and save on cleaning products by making your own eco-friendly solutions with everyday household items. Mixing your own cleaning products is super simple– just be sure to have staples such as white vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice on hand.

Tip #2: Clean one room at a time.

Declutter, take out your bookshelves, clean book shelves, books in a pile

Have a habit of jumping from room to room when spring cleaning? Stay organized by working through one room at a time. Spreading yourself thin through all the rooms in your home will only prolong spring cleaning tasks! Start with the room that needs the most attention in the house. If you cook frequently, perhaps you want to start in the kitchen, so you can tackle remnants of food, grime, and grease. Do you have a lot of foot traffic in your home? Your living room or entryway may be a good choice if you are expecting company soon. Create a plan and checklist that works best for you. Need help? Tip #3: Declutter as you go.

Spring cleaning is also the perfect time to reorganize and declutter your home, especially after accumulating more items in your home after the holiday season. While cleaning, start a donation pile for items you no longer use or need, and create a home for items that you are keeping.

Tip #4: Update your decor!

Did you order your Spring 2022 box yet? Now is the perfect time to switch your decor and try new arrangements while cleaning and decluttering. Set these beautiful new pieces on freshly cleaned counters, dusted bookshelves, or polished tables.
